Before We Go is a 20-minute contemporary dance work created on 30 students from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. It featured music by Grammy Award–winning artist Jacob Collier as well as a collaboration with molo design, whose interactive architectural elements shaped the production’s visual world.

Before We Go is an exploration of life through the lens of mortality—the quiet, ever-present awareness of an ending. It examines the things we gather and carry with us, as well as what we inevitably leave behind. It considers how we are shaped by the people we encounter and the experiences—significant or seemingly small—that teach us, inspire us, unsettle us, or redirect our path entirely.

At its core, the work reflects on legacy: what remains when we are no longer here. It asks what we leave behind in others, how we might be remembered, what we will be remembered for—and whether we will be remembered at all.
